The Taiwanese farm out at Laura (Rita is on the east side of the atoll, Laura on the west) hosted a big fiesta where everybody was allowed to come and eat off the fat of the land. It was wonderful. While driving there (in our own car! It's fixed! This is only the third time we've had battery issues in the last seven months!), I took these random videos of the landscape. I thought somebody out there might appreciate some footage of this crazy geography.
Almost ran over this pig on the way back.
Hey, why did the pig cross the road?
Because nobody was stopping it!
I wish I had the pictures that the Taiwanese gave us from the day, but this will have to suffice:
We got some tasty fresh eggplants and corn—what a treat! They were so delicious. The Laura Farm also kindly donated some pots for me to use for a Young Women activity on gardening. It was great to see all this fresh stuff being grown and distributed.
I live in the Marshall Islands, I have a husband (Andrew) and a toddler (Maxwell), and I am a writer, a graphic designer, and an editor/typesetter. My husband just joined the State Department as a Foreign Service Officer and this is our first post.

It is really lame to steal others' work and claim it as your own, anyway.
